performative story-writing and role-play sessions
> The title hints at a story that unfolds through multiplicity beyond ableist, heteropatriarchal epistemology. How does it evolve? Does it ever end? Is it tragic, or freaking funny? What is the geography? Is it relatable or relational? How do these three positions respond to our cognitive and political experience of now? Are they short stories, prayers, mantras, clashes of cultures, news, toolkits, standup sets, or restaurant menus?
>
>
> I seek to expand countless versions of this story. To discover how these three characters exist, and where, whether human or otherworldly, what histories they carry; their obsessions, wounds, fears, and futures. I invite all interested in story writing to craft their own versions inspired by this title, weaving in non-binary, non-abled, and non-hierarchical perspectives with me, using different performative writing strategies in Casino.
Each session, we will write, read, listen, and perform. We move between guided prompts, individual writing, and collective composition. We will work both in solo and small groups, layering and overlapping stories through all roles, making collective decisions as we go. Participants will work on their stories, positioning themselves in one, two, or all three characters - individually, simultaneously, as observers, or protagonists. Style and format are open: epistolary, first-person, autobiographical, theater pieces, or otherwise. We will explore how a single title can unfold into multiple surreal episodes and multiverses, shaped by our personal, political, and embodied perspectives.
